Komen focuses on patient navigation and advocacy, providing resources for breast cancer patients to understand the American medical system. It has also funded research into the causes and treatment of breast cancer. Every 12 minutes a woman In the US will lose her life to breast cancer. More than 80 cents of every dollar spent by the Susan G. Komen Foundation have gone directly towards research, community-based health programs, education and advocacy programs to support its mission of saving lives and ending breast cancer.
